Massage Therapy

We know the use of human touch for massage has been around for over 5,000 years, and it continues to gain in popularity today because it is not only effective to relieve pain and stress — it also FEELS REALLY GOOD!!!!

Folks ask me what style of massage I do, and today, I use my own mixture of the various hands-on therapies I’ve studied over the last 38 years while learning more and more how to best use my hands, head, and heart to help people, specializing in pain and stress relief, and later pregnancy which has led me to focus on aligning the spine to encourage the rest of the body’s systems to work the best way they can.  Massage allows me to move energy, improve circulation, ease stress & give TLC to the spirit.

I began helping my grandfather at the end of his long days laying floors when he would have sciatica pain, headaches, or arthritis in his hands and knees just doing what he said helped his pain reduce or go away completely. Playing soccer and other sports, I found myself after games helping my teammates repair their sore, swollen, sprained, or torn muscles, or even broken bones.  I didn’t think about it, I just did what came naturally and what my relatives encouraged me to do to help other people who were clearly hurting or having struggles.

Upon my arrival in Hawaii, I have loved the ancient massage style of Hawaii known as Lomi Lomi and designed to heal the entire body through its rhythmic strokes. I find this to be a very relaxing and effective massage that’s magical how good it makes you feel!

Since the age of 15, I’ve studied and practiced as many types of massage as I could feel comfortable with including, but not limited to Swedish, Deep tissue, Hot Stone, Medical, Pregnancy, Post-natal, Sports, Touch for Health, Shiatsu, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Training, EFT, and Lymphatic Drainage.  I use all of these incorporated into what I do know when asked for massage therapy.

If it is appropriate, I may also add in the Hawaiian healing lava stones collected from the beaches around the Big Island on my walking meditations specifically for use in treatment for others.

 CRANIAL SACRAL THERAPY

A gentle technique addressing the cranial-sacral system (the brain, spinal cord, sacrum, and cerebral spinal fluid) that facilitates the free flow and ease of movement of all the body’s fluids, membranes, muscles, and fascia bringing balance to the body and a feeling of total relaxation.  It is excellent for the treatment of insomnia, neurological imbalances, headaches, sinus/allergy dysfunction, anxiety, digestive issues, and pain relief.
